PA Man Struck Dead On Christmas: Coroner

A 75-year-old pedestrian, Edward D. Tomcics, was struck and killed by a motor vehicle on Christmas Day in Whitehall Township, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:54 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024, in the 3200 block of Water Street, officials said. Tomcics was rushed to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, where he was pronounced dead at 7:32 p.m.

An autopsy performed by the coroner revealed that Tomcics died from blunt force injuries sustained in the collision. His death has been ruled an accident.

The incident is under investigation by the Whitehall Township Police Department, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, and the coroner's office.
